Dynamic Folder View: Organize Your Information
in Folders
askSam 6 offers a
completely new way for askSam users to organize and navigate their information.
With the Dynamic Folder View, askSam lets you place your information in folders
and sub-folders. Unlike most folder implementations, askSam Folders are
displayed dynamically. You select a field in your database and askSam builds the
Folder View based on the contents of this field. You can easily change the field
that defines your Folder View and display your information organized in a
different set of folders. This is a powerful way to analyze your information.

Contents of a Field
A new Pick List option
lets you automatically build Pick Lists from the contents of a field. For
example, if you have a Keyword field, you can have askSam build the pop-up Pick
List from the items you enter in the askSam field. askSam can even automatically
generate the list when you have multiple entries in a field, for example, askSam
can turn a field with contents like this:
Keywords[
Exercise; Behavior Analysis; Disease; Child Development; Diet; Diets; Consumer
Psychology; Dairy ]
into a pick list like this:

All
entries from the Keywords fields in your file will be displayed automatically in
a single, sorted, pick list.

generate a pick list from any field in the current file or another askSam file.
Ÿ Define
a delimiter that separates terms in the field (for example a comma or
